Can't find and API SE, SF or SG like the manual says to use. So, using SL. It isn't energy conserving so I am AOK?

Used the search, didn't find anything.

What I meant to say was: Can't find and API SE, SF or SG OIL like the manual says to use. So, I am using SL. It isn't energy conserving so I am AOK?

The way it is set up the new rating (SL) meets all the requirements of the old ratings (SG, SH, etc.). As long as you stick with the recommended oil viscosity, e.g. 10w40, 10w50, 20w40 and 20w50, you won't find any that are energy conserving.
