I have found an ad for a 1984 KLR600 that isn't running (therefore it is CHEAP) Tha ad says it needs a CDI ignition box but otherwise is clean and low mileaga (<10k) Any idea if this is a good deal or how I can tell if it needs a CDI Ignition box?

if the trigger coil is good and the plug coils meter out ok and make spark when you put 12V to them and take it off fast.. then it's the cdi.. wiring has to be good too. if it's a points bike then theres no CDI. but assuming it doesn't have points then theres only 4 things it can be with no spark.. bad plugs, bad wiring, bad trigger coil or bad CDI. gotta start from the beginning of the system and test it all out, knocking out a component at a time.
