I don't think the '95-'97 front sprocket is the same as the '98 and later. I have a Renthal front sprocket and it lists the application as only '95-'97. As far as the chain length goes with the 15/40 set up it is 108 links. I suspect that you will have to go 110.

thanks for the reply! that's what i thought as well but when i called up kneedraggers they said it was the same part #? but on their website, it's 2 different part #'s. does anyone have vortex website?

i have a vortex 14t front with a vortex 43 rear with a DID x-linked chain. how many links would i need? also, are the 95-97 front sprockets the same as the 99 zx6r front sprocket? the reason for the question is that when i bought the 14t sprocket, the package says 95-97 and was unsure if they sent me the wrong one...
