I have an 06 and I bought it with about 240 miles on the odo. It came equipped with a scorpion slip on. Since I got it I hated the exhaust note. It was real bubbly and raspy. I had plans of buying a two bros to replace it. So today I changed my oil with 400 miles on it with a purolator filter and shell rotella 15w-40 oil and after I started it, it sound really good not raspy/ bubbly but pretty throaty and deep. I'm lost as to how this could be.
Is it possible that an oil change can change the tone?

my stock exhaust note changed when I hit 500 miles, so it could just be a break-in thing. It was noticbly different from my roommate who had the identical bike with only 100 miles on it

No two bikes are going to sound just the same.

ok,

well, if oil is now a new part of the intake/cyclinder/extaust, then owwowowow

but NO, oil will not change your exhaust note at all in the least bit...

My bike always gets an extra 10 miles to the gaallon if I change the blinker fluid regularly. Just thought I would share. ROFL
