A couple other things, when replacing the filter, make sure that it has a safety bypass in case it gets clogged so you don't blow things up. Choose a motorcycle specific oil and it's a good idea to measure out the amount of oil you want, rather than counting on the bike being completely level.
You do not want any extra oil after you're done, you can easily do large amounts of damage, and if you're lucky it'll just spray into the air filter.
