I use a solutions of diesel and paraffine 1-1.

Ive always used this as an engin cleaner. It works great!!! Just don;t use petrol/gasoline.
Also don't let the diesel paraffine mix get on your tires offcourse... it won;t make for good kneedragging :D

dont forget your brake seals are rubber and any oil based products will attack the rubber and cause them to bloat , use a mild detergent or brake fluid to clean the caliper and dont get any on the paintwork.

Try 'Castrol Metal Parts Cleaner' for motorcycles. Its not very expensive and works great! I even use it on my chain. It doesn't attack rubber, so the rings in your chain and the little bits in your brakes are safe.
