Hey guys i recently bought a 1984 GPz 750 and it has a full rack of CR special carbs on it that have never been adjusted or jetted for my bike.
I got the bike with it running super fat on the bottom end the needles were set 1 slot away from the bottom with main jets of 125 and pilot jets of 80 and fuel air screw set at about 2 turns out. I have set the the needles to third from the top and have adjusted the fuel air mixture to about one turn out trying to get them to lean out a little more. i was told by a kawasaki mechanic to buy size 70 for the pilot jets and then go to about 1.75 turns out on the fuel air screw then fine tune. The bike also has pod K+N aircleaners with the air box removed. The smaller pilot jets are not readily available and i will have to order them. At my adjustments now it is running pretty good but seems just a bit laggy at the bottom end, am i any where close on my adjustments and jets ? PLease advise me. Also i would like some advice on sprocket gearing for around town cruising with not to radical of rpm if i had to cruise on the freeway for a bit. Thanks for any help you guys can give me
