I am starting to look for a slip on system for my 03 636. I had a Micron on my old CBR600 but I always like the sound of my friends ZX6 with a Muzzy. My bike had that shreaking Indy car noise while his had a deep, throaty, gutteral sound that made the bike sound so powerful. I am leaning more towards that sound instead of the high rpm scream. Which exhausts have that deep sound? Muzzy, Yosh?

The Vance Hines has that sort of gutteral sound you`re looking for but it is a loud bugger once you get into the higher revs....mine`s loud enough as it is with the stock pipe! Hope you have tolerant neighbors.

I started out with a V&H SS2R on my old CBR600 and it was way too quiet. I think I like the D&D sound. I am waiting for the FMF cans to come out as well and for them to post sounds files. FMF usually has a throaty sound.

I also had one of the "older" vance&Hines it it was super loud. But the newer ones are no longer loud at all. If you can get a hold of the older one go for it its a great pipe, but I would NOT buy one of the newer ones.

If your looking for load, deep, and powerful sound, dont get an akrapovic. I hear them all the time, they sound just a tad over stock, but they are not made for sound like others are. They are made for go.
Id say for what you want look at D&D followed by Hindle, and then Muzzy.

I am thinking D&D until I hear the new FMF cans. I have a feeling the FMF cans may be failry quiet though. Hindle is too shreaky and indy car sounding for me. Two Bros. has a nice sound too. My buddy has one on his R6.

Sorry, gotta disagree here... if he's looking for deep... D&D, Hindle and Muzzy are not the ticket. Yosh and Akrapovic are deep. Those other three are shrieky high-pitched, especially Hindle. Yeah they're louder perhaps, but sure not deep and throaty. Akrapovic sounds amazing at higher revs. I get compliment after compliment on my pipe from all my riding buddies.

And Yosh too is a nice sound, throatier than the others you mentioned. I too am anxious to hear the new FMF pipes by the way, so if anybody has heard one, please post thoughts.

I've got a Yoshimura RS3 Race can on mine and think it sounds awesome. Real deep and keeps the great sound through the entire rev range. It's either that or the Akro can. You can't go wrong with them.

I am still getting the Devil Shotguns when they are available. They have a deep, throaty, lope to them like a '69 Chevelle SS! I think that they have soundbites on their site. You can check out all the pipes on my bike links site. www.SportbikeLinks.net
(ps, don't do the shotguns, I wanna be the only one ;))
