Being a bigger guy, I found the mirror extensions to give me a great view of my shoulders/elbows, and a virtually non-existant view of the area directly behind the bike.

So I took off the mirrors, and found that the bolt holding the mirrors to the fairing is a double thread M6. It is virtually impossible to find a similar bolt with a longer thread depth (to accomodate a spacer), but a quick trip to Home Depot and $2.00 bought four M6x50 mm bolts, and a boatload of thick washers.

Insert the bolts "backwards" so that the head is behind the fairing, and load about 1.5 inch stack of spacers for each bolt before screwing the mirrors to the end of the M6 bolts. Voila! No more arm/neck contortions!

I'll play around with the washer stack until I'm happy with the extentions, and then get something fabricated out of aluminum at the depth I'm happy with. But as it stands, I'm VERY happy with the results, especially since I've seen spacer kits for over $150 bucks.

Anyway, if anyone is interested in this, I'll attach a few pics.
