I have a 94 ZX6R and it was running fine. It sat a week, started up went a mile to the store. It sat for about 20 minutes. Went back and started it up and now it won't rev past 3 grand.

No audible misses. Starts fine it just won't rev. I checked my fuel and it did the same thing even with the fuel tank off.

I was able to start it ten times on the fuel just in the carbs.

I am suspecting coils. Plugs look ok. Anyone else experienced this?

I have a pretty good multi meter, is there a way to test the coils?

Could be the coils or one of your jet needles are loose. Exact same thing happened to me and turned out to be a loose needle. Also check for pinched vacuum hoses.

Is it bouncing off 3k? or does it climb to 3k and just sit there?

It just kind of sits there... it trys to go past but the exhaust note changes and it just kind of hangs there.

Its a wild guess but check your intake hoses and make sure they are all connected. Your symptoms sound the same as when mine did that and it was the "y" shaped hose that connects the two intakes together.
