1. what would cause a sprocket to resemble a circular saw blade? (mine doesn't)
2. this is the first time breaking in a bike, why, when I let off the throttle and the gas it again, is there a "jolt" right before acceleration? is that normal? or does the gearbox just need to be worked in a little? or something to do w/ the chain tension?

alright, 4 questions [:I]

i might have a answer to #2.......maybe the rpm is to high for the gear you are in.

Hmmmm.. pretty much keeping the RPM's under 6K until 600 miles... just giving her short bursts and letting off.. nothing crazy

Improper chain adjustment will cause the teeth on a sprocket to wear in a circular pattern, thus looking like a sawblade. Make sure it has the right tension and is well lubed. although, if a sprocket is rounded like this, get a new one soon.

Life is short, but sweet for certain...

Yes, it's my first bike.... getting used to it now.... however, I rode a brand new Ducati Monster recently that does the same thing but worse... I'm guessing the V-twin exaggerates the kick
