Yer no problem.
When you change the Fork oil seals apart from replacing them you need to evacuate all the old fork oil as it degrades over time with the ingress of water.
So the Damper rod needs to be pumped a few times to get any residual oil out which is always present, That way when you refill with new oil your getting all new not a percentage of old mixed in.
Additionally when you get to the stage of filling with new oil the most accurate way to measure is with an Air Gap which can't be achieved with the spring in and you also need to pump the Damper rod a few times to expel air and prime it.
