you should get a jet kit if you buy a full system...

you wont need one if you get the bolt/slip on system....

hmm...alrighty thanks.....anyone know how much a jet kit runs? and what stage should i get? would it matter?

Oh, around $122.22.

If you look at DynoJet, you are looking at #2122 for an 86 ZX600R Ninja. The kit for your bike runs either Stage 1 (basically stock airbox and filter) or Stage 3 (for individual filters and velocity stacks). The .pdf file will show you what's involved in installing it. I'm guessing you don't have a heavily modified intake system, and you'll want the Stage 1. (Different needle sizing is the key difference. As more modern engines already have pretty efficient intake systems, only stage 1 kits are available, as is the case with the previous generation zx6r from 2000-2002.)
