I am going to make my own fender eliminator kit because I have access to aluminum sheeting but I was wondering... Do I have to have an undertail on my 6R for my fender eliminator to work or does that mean that I have to cut the existing rear fender off?

Life is short, but sweet for certain...

on the new 6r, the whole piece comes off which requires no cutting or drilling. on older models, like yours, you will have to cut that awful piece of plastic off. there is no undertail like the new 6.
good luck!
