Fender Eliminator.

734 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Johnny77
I just received my fender eliminator from Competitionwerkes, I guess I am gonna be doing some work on the bike to remove the ugly fender on it. Any suggestions on removing the undertail, fender, etc? I also received the alarm that Tommyboynj was talking about, I guess I am gonna have a professional work on that. I don't have full coverage on my bike, only liability and a $250 deductible on comprehensive coverage just in case it gets stolen. So I am pretty happy. Next month is my Hindle Slip-on, if I have the money.

its easy ...first the back seat comes off then there are six push pins you need to take out(push the center of them with a small allen wrench)take the driver seat off with a 10mm then take the upper part of the tail off. take the screw out of the storage and pull that out. remove the four nuts that hold the stock fender on and disconnect the stock blinker and licence plate light wires. i think there are two push pins one the fender also after that the fender should come off. then mount your fender elminator blinker etc etc and put it back together. test all your wiring before you get it back togher though and use lock tight(i didnt and the thing almost fell off)
Johnny,

Also use the search function and search for FE, F.E. and Fender Eliminator.

That is one of the most popular mods here and there are a ton of threads regarding it and you can get a ton of ideas from the various threads here. I was somewhat lost on what to do with my undertail as well, but after reading all the threads here I was able to use a combination of the various advice here and found something that worked best for me.

I also recommend using Lock-Tite. The stuff works wonders and is great piece of mind.
