Hi Forum,

Just a quickie really, I need to take the front wheel off for a tyre change but the axle is very tight. Is it a left hand thread or something? I need to know before I go medieval [}:)] on its ass. I WILL buy a manual, maybe next month when I'am a bit more flush.

Also, tyre choice, I was thinking BT012SS but they don't come in 170/60 size, so I was thinking a wider lower profile might be ok. Has anyone ran a non-recommended tyre with good/bad results?

Cheers

to remove the front tire you will need a alan wrench for both sides. i put a cheater pipe in the right hand side alan wrench , so it would be hitting the ground and not move while i unscrewed the left axle. lefty loosey...righty tighty

The front axle is standard-threaded. You need only one wrench, and a breaker bar may help. To remove the axle, simply remove the 8-mm pinch bolt on only the right side, and then turn the axle counterclockwise from the right side.

Although a wider rear tire will fit, it will adversely affect handling. Stick with the stock size.

Give me a lever big enough and I'll move the world.
Well mine was only 3ft long but it did the trick.
New BT010s tomorrow, hehe.
Cheers chaps.
