front brake shatter!!

A slight warp can be made much worse by sticking pistons in the calipers, as the calipers don't float but the rotors do, Get the Calipers overhauled and see if you can live with the difference before you invest in new rotors.

Had this problem myself last month. Thought I had a bent rotor, but could not feel the brake level pulsing at all. Can you? My bike would shudder like hell when hard braking from 160kph. Just happened to be putting a new front tyre on it and found the front wheel bearing had a flat spot and I had a leaking fork. These combined to produce the shudder when all the weight shifted forward.
Bearing cost $40, fork reseal $35 (Australian)..

A few ideas for you

PS I have a 98 6R

what does flat spot in wheel bearings mean?
A Notch in the same place, same as when your head bearings go
