A 2001 Kawasaki ZX6R Green/Purple. It has 1000 miles. It is just broken in. I bought it new 2 months ago. It has been babied. It has never been down or raced. Not a scratch on it. Better than new. I am going back to school and can't afford insurance.

Fender eliminator kit
Clear LED Taillights
Clear turn signals
Plus all stock parts

I do work. I bartend and make damn good money for being in school, but I am getting raped on insurance. Seriously just bent over.

Yeah, if I made $300 an hour.

I have a year left so I want to let this go for a year and get a new one at the beginning of next summer. The '03 looks pretty sweet from the pictures. Besides, I still have a '76 KZ400 to tool around on and park close.

I'd love to help you out but I just bought my '02 recently.

2 questions - what did you pay for it new to be asking $7000 for a used '01? I bought my '02 in May and only paid $6800 out the door, zero miles on the OD.

Also, what the hell are you paying for insurance and who through? I'm using USAA and paying $188 for 6 months for full coverage at middle of the rode for all amounts and $500 deduct.

I don't mean anything buy the above - just wondering. Maybe shop around for better insurance rates.

One more - What's up with the black tape on the headlights?

I paid $7K with the Shoei helmet "thrown" in. Sounded like a good deal at the time. So, $7K and I don't take too bad of a hit. Insurance is insane. The cheapest after shopping around has been $2200 for the year. That is with high deductables. I have shoppped around and the other numbers are just too gross to even repeat. I don't know if it's the age thing or the 1 ticket or what?! Either way, I have to drop the 6R and get back on the KZ400 for a year... that'll be a switch. It is an '01 but it's only 3 months old. Am I asking too much IYO?

BTW: That's not black tape, that's the reflection of my apartment building. It's not ready for duct tape yet. )

Anywho, sorry to hear you have to get rid of such a nice bike.<img src=icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle>

Just to let you know, it took me 3 different dealers to find one that would "play" and then 2 days of arguing and fussing about every little nit-niod thing to get the price down from MSRP $7799 to $6800. then they tried to add a $390 set-up fee, what crap, I took the sales manager over to the bike and pionted out several things that were missed in the so called "set-up" and he waived that fee. Funny thing is after it was all said and done and I was ready to ride off, the sales manager came over to shake my have and said "that was fun. Most don't put up that kind of a fight. Come back here for your next bike too." Kinda weird but what the hell.
