Question as above- which zx6r models have fuel injection? The '03s and up?

I guess another question- when did motorcycle companies start using fuel injection in bikes in general?

Thanks for your help!:D

yes, 03 and up in the ZX6R/RR models, but the ZZR600 is still a giant gas leak, commonly referred to as a carb.

fuel injection depends on which make/model. fuel injection for sportbikes has been around since about 2000. it's a nice feature, but has a long way to go when compared to cars. the power commander acts as a piggy back for the injection system because manufacturers use a standard fuel map for all bikes. meaning that no matter how many modifications you make, they're not as efficient w/o a power commander. check one out if a friend has one. bypass the commander and then use it. there's an obvious difference in the performance all over the rev range

You should have a look down a carby while the engine is running - all they do is leak fuel into the engine...:D

Excepting a few short-lived or limited production bikes (like Bimotas, Yamaha GTS1000, and one or two Kawasakis from the '80's), the first fuel-injected sportsbike that I heard of was the '98 GSXR750, followed in the same year by the TL1000S. Suzuki was the first Japanese manufacturer to really adopt fuel-injection for it's sportsbikes. Kawasaki was the last.

The BMW K-series has been fuel-injected since they were first released in about '84.
