Hey, just wondering... does anyone else's gas tank "whistle" on warm/sunny days? Mine has always done that and so does my buddy's wifes 250 ninja. Never heard other bikes doing that. We must be special?

Its just air pressure in the tank, as you use up the gas the air pressure builds and leaks out of the cap particularly on HOT days, its a tight hole, hence the whistle.

If you open the tank it will go away (you release the air pressure in the tank) or just leave it, eventually it will stop. This is completely normal of all bikes

I thought it was a special valve for the tank to release
pressure when it builds up - rather than the petrol cap
actually opening up a gap.

I always get it after taking the bike for a thrash..
the bike squeals for 5 seconds, every 5 minutes for
about 1-2 hours after stopping.
