Hey I cant see the pic, but it seems for a $1000 you really cant go wrong I've seen EX250s selling for more than that and from the same year. IMHO its a matter of what you prefer. I t would be great starter bike, but if you are an experienced rider a 500 wont have the power you are looking for.

Yeah, it sounds like a pretty good deal. A friend of mine had a 250 and a 500 at the time, and they were almost exactly the same in terms of speed and handling. The 500 only revs to like 8 or 9K, where as the 250 revs to 14K. But I think that'd be a good bike to learn on or just practice on , because for $1000 you'll always be able to sell it and not get schooled on the resale value.

I cant save the pictures for some reason but i feel this could be a really good deal...I sent the guy an email and he said i could stop by to see it whenever i needed to so i might do that. I figure i can buy an old used beat up bike such as this and do what i wont do to that brand new 636.... heres the email the man sent me about the bike.

First off I am located in Basking Ridge, zip code
07920. I'm pretty close to Hillsborough, i just take
78 East for about 10-15 miles. The bike has never been
crashed, but it has been down twice as far as I know.
The previous owner told me he dropped it once, a low
speed drop. I myself have also dropped it once, again
a very low speed drop. There is no visible damage,
apart from a few nicks and scratches. There are some
deep scratches on the exhaust from the previous owner,
but that's it. The tranny, forks, and brakes all work
well. The rear brake squeaks a little bit but it still
works well. The bike starts up fine once it's been
running for a while. Initial start ups (because I ride
it so infrequently sometimes need a jump because the
battery is getting old, but there are no other
problems. Everything mechanically works fine. The new
throttle cable is excellent with no problems also. I
am selling simply because I need money really badly to
pay off some debts. It is also a beginner bike, and
when i get some money down the road i would like to
purchase another, more advanced bike. I love this bike
and hate to see it go but immediate circumstances
warrant my selling the bike. The clutch is also
perfect. the bike has never really been raced apart
from a few stoplights and highway romps here and there
with some friends, but no serious racing. I ride
pretty hard, but rarely redline the bike, and i never
abuse it in any way. I need to sell asap and for 1k
even it's probably the best value for a reliable
beginner's bike. If you want to come take a look give
me a call anytime: 908-413-4690. thanks, ttyl.
