Hmmmm.....Well, were to begin.
This is not done by kawi due to the fact that this would blow their emission test all to hell.The origin of this stuff is to pass the strict emisiion standards now required.Why sure, Kawi should also put straight pipes for their mufflers too, but that doesn't cut the cake.
All in all the companies try to make a machine that is reliable and go like stink.....but there are trade offs.For this, we call them mods.....

Also the fact that the suzuki guys have been doing this for some time now....it has been proven to be no ill effects......unless your bike is so well sealed(piston rings), that this mod can reduce power.Ask Odysseys from the SBN.....I got him to do it on his heavily modified ZX9----9 that is----and this had no benefit for him....seems that the 6's respond best to it.
