Hi,
I bought a 1999 Kawasaki ZX6R. On the title it shows Year Model 1999 and Year 1st sold 2000. The bike has dual headlights and everything else look exactly 2000. The VIN and Engine number matched between title and bike. The engine uses electronic spark plug wires(2000 model) instead of the old coil style(1999 model). Any other different thing between 1999 and 2000 that I can compare to tell if my bike is 1999 or 2000.

Any help appreciate.
Thanks,

i think its a 2000. same color scheme they used on all 2000. did you buy it new? it could also be the previous owner did a swap of the upper and headlights. looks clean either way, nice bike! 01's are tighter!

What's the VIN #? The seventh character tells you which model it is.

JKAZX4J <- 2000
JKAZX4G <- 1999

Thanks for the info arturo3rd and Strong Bad.
The bike has clean title. I bought it in Jan this year(4500 mile) now it has 12k. It has Ivan's jet kit installed. The person who I bought from doesn't seem to be known much about the bike.
I want to sell this because the ZX10 is comming.
Thanks again!

Mine is JKAZX4G <- 1999
I already check VIN on the Kawasaki website, it shows 1999.

What's your consecutive number? I've never heard of any late year changes like this. That stuff usually only happens in the auto world. Prob a crash rebuild, since the frame's been painted. There really isn't any way to know unless you find the original owner. VIN says 99, so no matter what, it's a 99, but it would be interesting to find out.
