Here's the deal. The headlight modulator (blinker, flasher) is a solid state device that flashes the headlights at a rate of about 240 time a min. I have found out that it switches the lamp between high and low beam instead of high beam to off (like I thought it would be). This is good because it will not effect the headlight life if there is always voltage going to filament. The one that I just bought has a switch that is on the unit that allows me to turn it off or adjust the way that it modulates. It also has a photo-optic sensor that automatically turns off the unit when there is not much light outside. (federal law says you can not modulate at night) On the one that I got (Diamond star headlight modulator) there is also something that you can wire into the horn so anytime you hit the horn it also modulates the headlight twice as fast as it is currently going to give a grandma in her Buick a visual indication that you are there along with the audible. One of the old Goldwing riders I was talking to at the shop said that it is the best thing that he has put on his bike. Oh and make sure that you get the dual headlight wiring kit for your 6R.
As for the tail light modulator, this website is the combo of both. I am sure if you hunt around the website you will find just the "backoff".

I was sort of upset when I saw this. I would have saved about $20. I got mine from the parts unlimited book at the dealer. If that website does not work then check out www.ridesafer.com and it is under the specials about 1/2 the way down the page. It is "Modulator saver pack" on the home page and the one that I got (was recomended to me by the Wing guy) was package #1. The tail light modulator is small and is really working out well.
