I thought I would like to post this so other people know to wear earplugs when riding, it has made a world of difference in reducing fatigue.

I have a shoei x-eleven helmet and I have to say that it offers little to no hearing protection (holes in the helmet for ventilation) i really didnt even think it was THAT bad, but the noise levels i was being exposed to were actually really high. After reading this thread http://www.sportbikeworld.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13978&perpage=30&pagenumber=1 I realized that I needed to get some ear plugs.

You would think that wearing earplugs would lessen the experience or perhaps endanger you(not hear a horn etc), but in actuallity you can hear your bike perfectly and it eliminates ALL of the noise caused by wind at 100+mph or even when cruising at 70+.

Im really glad I got some earplugs (2 bux at wal-mart for a pack of 10...im deaf in my left ear so that means i got 20)

I just wish I had started out wearing ear plugs, because I probably would have been able to ride longer w/ less fatigue.

I was just wondering how many of you also wear earplugs, and why or why not.

I wear them when I'm going down the highway if not, mt ears ring after stopping, but I find them a little too restrictive around town. Had mine in when I was about to head home one day and see these cars pulling over in front of me. Look in the mirror and there's a cop not far behind me with his siren on. Never heard him coming.

i wear earplugs on longer rides, really helps you not fatigue as fast...

i also tend to run the bike in the higher rev range with them in since I have trouble telling how fast the motor is turning...
