Hi there,
I'm currently in the process of trying to upgrade/replace the suspension on my 07 z750.
I would preferably like to keep my front wheel but know that I will more than likely have to change the brakes. A lot of threads suggest a 636 but I'm unsure whether it would fit and what year I would require.

I've been searching for hours and I've finally had to ask as I'm going crazy searching!

Thanks in advance
Simon

Help for Simon

Hi Simon,

I will try to help you with this.
The ZX6 forks from 2005-6 and 2007-8 fit the Z750 but you have the problem of the axle diameter, the diameter on the fork axle holes is larger on the zx6r and the z1000 so you cant use the 750 wheel. Looks like you will need to buy a zx6 wheel from the years quoted above. Alternatively if you like the 3 spoke design you could buy a Z1000 wheel or a wheel from a zx6r 2003-04 which is the same.

Radial calipers so you will have to change the brakes.

I bought forks from a 2007 zx6r and wheel from a 2004 zx6r, calipers from a 2009 zx6r and master cylinder from a 2008 Z1000. Frankenstein set up but it works.

ZX10r is a no go because the forks are too fat to fit in the triple clamps.

Hope this helps.

I am in London if you need help

cost

It sounds expensive but was not bad for me.

I bought wheel for £55, forks for £160, brakes for £120 total £335

I sold forks for £115 and wheel for £120 total £235

So cost me £100 all in. Tip is that the z750 wheel is the same as the ER6 and Versys so they are a good seller.
