Hi all I’ve recently brought a project bike which I’m lead to believe it’s a late 80’s GPX 250. The only numbers I can find on the bike has 12 digits EX250E-###### ( not hashes of course but six numbers) these are stamped on the right hand of the steering column. I cannot find any other plates or marks except made in Japan on the opposite side.
If anyone would know where I could find more info about this bike it would be most appreciated.

The number you posted is the model number. Every motorcycle I've ever had has had the VIN stamped on the head of the frame. The EX250E was made in 86-87 so it's one of those two years.

FYI, the VIN will be physically stamped into the metal. Has the bike been painted possibly coating the numbers?
Hi mate
Those were the numbers stamped in the metal and sure there’s no other letters or numbers
