ok so i got my bike a few days ago.. i love it

its got an under tail kit polished EVERYTHING and nice paint.. oh and a to brothers exhaust..

i rode it a few times and it was sick

i pull it outta the garage yesterday and i cant get into second gear or the rest for that matter

i get into 1st and N but i cant go anywere else.. is this a common problem. im new to the bike so i really dont know i wanted to see if i could fix it before i brought it into service

i didnt know that but even when i tried riding it out into my road i couldnt get into second gear....



also when im in N and i slowly release the clutch i hear a bit of a ratteling sound coiming from the linkage area

I am not completely sure but.... try turning it as it is threaded on both sides (one is left, one is right handed threads?) until it shifts past second. I think this is how you adjudt them? or if it was completely off the bike, it is possible that where it hooks to the engine side, is slightly out of whack, try looking at a ZZR600 or a j model zx6r to see if yours looks any different?

An adjustment of the shift linkage may work. I know when I miss second it'll make that dreaded ginding sound in neutral. I hope it's an easy fix. If you Pop off the linkage on one end or the other you can twist the bolt attachment to lengthen and shorten it. Pretty easy to do as I recall.... I would try lengthening the linkage first.
