The "positive nuetral finder" on Kawi's prohibit the bike from going any higher than N while at a standstill. Kinda a cool feature. so I [:+1] on what lowthrizzle said.

I am not completely sure but.... try turning it as it is threaded on both sides (one is left, one is right handed threads?) until it shifts past second. I think this is how you adjudt them? or if it was completely off the bike, it is possible that where it hooks to the engine side, is slightly out of whack, try looking at a ZZR600 or a j model zx6r to see if yours looks any different?
