Hey. I have been offered an old ZZR 1000 at a cheap price.

Unfortunately the documents have been lost, so I have to use the vin-number to apply for new ones.

But the vin-number is only 12 digits, I assume there should be 17 digits? Does this look right?
Also, I don't know the bikes production year, can you tell that from this number?

The motorcycle has previously been registered in Germany.

Thanks in advance (y);)

Caveat Emptor

Looks like a serial number, not a VIN, to me. I'm not familiar with purchasing vehicles on that side of the pond but my rule for purchase is I don't buy anything if the owner can't produce the ownership documents, regardless of how good the price. As a vehicle owner myself, if I lost the documents, I'd replace them myself before selling.

FYI Kawasaki never produced a ZZR1000.
That Vin number is for a ZZR1100-D2 1994
