I help you adjust it using the marks and then you can do a search on other methods.

Take out the cotter pin and loosen the rear axle nut. Loosen up the axle adjusters so you can move the axle forward a little past the first mark you come to. Now using the adjusters get both sides exactly lined up on the same mark. Make sure you go slow because you can't back up because of the slop in the adjuster. Once both sides are on the same mark you can tighten the axle bolt so that it is snug. Turn each adjuster the same amount until you get the chain tension you want, I think someone said it is 30mm on the '03, a little over an inch. When you get close to the correct slack a small adjustment makes a big difference so go slow.

if you dont feel confident with the alignments marks on the swingarm, you can do the quick and dirty straight line string check....

basically you get a long piece of string, tape the string halfway through to the rear tire about a few inches up from the bottom of the tire, then pull the string forward toward the front tire running parrallel to the rear tire side walls, then make sure the string is equal distances from the sides of the front tire (front tire pointed straight ahead) while making sure the string is touches the rear tire side walls extactly the same... if string distance isn't equal fron the front tire then adjust using method mentioned above...
