Hi everyone,

I would like to take the speedo/miles sensor off on a '04 ZX-6R.
It must be somewhere around the transmission, but where exactly, and is it easy to do ?

The purpose is for the KM to not roll over, and I'de be doing this in the morning and putting it back in the evening.

Please advise, my dear Kawi riding friends

I want to know this too. Reason being, my bike has +2 sprocket in the rear, -1 up front, so my speedo shows I'm going a lot faster than I really am. When I'm keeping pace with other cars in a 45 mph zone, my speedo is showing 60mph. So my odometer probably has about 5k miles more than the bike really does. How can I fix this?

I really dont care what your intentions are.
You can unplug it, it wont rack miles when you plug it in but you loose the tach and all indicator lights when its off.
You can also use the wiring diagram from the service manual to figure out which wires are for the sensors. That I wont tell you, you can figure it out.
I have my milage sensor wire on a switch so I can determine when I want my bike to rack miles.

If all you do is look at an odometer when purchasing a vehicle then you shouldnt be purchasing a vehicle.
