I love to pop wheelies when i am racing someone or take off fast but i never can ride them out..... i get to scared of losing control.... how far have you ever riden a wheelie?

p.s. true story.... there is this kid in my town that is great on bikes and one day he was riding down on of the busiest streets in town. while he was showing off his bike and popping wheelies he wanted to see how far he could ride a wheelie.... bad idea... while he was riding a wheelie a school bus pulled out in front of him and he ran right into the bus while doing the wheelie.... he walked away with minor problems but the best part was all the little kids on the bus was laughing at him..... god would that suck....Hhahahahhaha

On some bikes I can wheelie longer than on others. on the 6R only like half a block. then again, I'm not into stunts.

i can ride them that long on my bike. that takes practice...and practice equals mistakes and I don't want to make many mistakes on a 02 zx-6r that I'm paying for for 5 years ;)

I want to get a cheap dual sport so I can practice the stupid shit...

My mechanic held a wheelies through 3 gears on my bike

It isn't a matter of power really more a matter of how much
balls you have and holding it at the balance point.

Once it is at balance point you only need tiny amounts of
thrust to keep it up.

I think the longest wheelie I've pulled on my bike is about 2 miles. That's all balance point in second. The fun shit is pullin them up in first going super slow!

BTB,

How exactly are you getting those wheelies up in 2nd? Are you clutching them up, and if so, whats the exact process in doing it.

Thanks

Not exactly sure how far but I would guess about 2 feet. I suck at doing wheelies but at the same time I'm too nervous to practice the big ones.

I use both clutch and power. If I want to pull them up slow I'll use the clutch, if I want to pull them up at faster speeds I'll just use power and bounce. To clutch them up take it to about 5,500~6,000 rpm pull in the clutch, take it almost to redline and you can either let out the clutch smooth and fast or just dump it. I usually just dump the clutch and bring it up super quick but I wouldn't recomend that when your just beginning. It takes some practice and don't get discrouraged because it will come up with the right technique.
