That does suck. But it beats him driving off. Mistakes do happen, but like you said, he manned up to it.

I bought my first sport bike over the weekend. A blue zx6 636. Lets just say I was as happy as can be. I drive it home Saturday. Park it and wait till Sunday to drive it again. Sunday I drive it to walmart and then to sonny's bbq. I park, go in and then the next thing I know a girl that works there comes up and asks if I drive a blue sport bike, cause some guy in a truck backed in and knocked it over. Ive never been so pissed in my life. It was less then one day old had less then 30 miles on it. What really sucked was when it fell the shifter broke and it wouldnt shift. I had to drive it home in first gear. Good thing I live like 20 mins from there. I got lucky and the guy manned up and his insurance is paying for it. The tow truck just picked it up and hopefully Ill have it back soon.:(

frame sliders are plastic "things" you bolt onto the frame of the bike. They stick out further then the fairing, so if the bike falls, they should hit the ground, and help keep the rest of the bike off the ground.

A couple pics..

UPDATE:

Well I just got the estimate for repairs, how about $3000.00. Pretty good for just knocking a bike over. Im so glad that his insurance is paying for it all. Im happy that after they are all done it will be brand new again. Now I just have to wait for the parts to come in. OH and I ordered some Vortex frame sliders today.

WOW! That is some pretty bad news bud.....geez. I can kind of hear what you are saying though. I had my own streak of bad luck recently also. Not as costly as yours, but bad luck in all. I was riding near my home town and got a flat tire, so I got it back to Lincoln, and got a new tire put on it. It was 200 bucks for the whole trip, the new tire mounting balancing etc. Then I took it home, and parked it over the weekend to go on vacation with my family. Come home, rarin' to ride on Monday, go to the garage to get it and the same tire is dead flat as a doornail. The place that I got the tire from would not warranty it or anything, and I was not interested at all in getting it repaired, so there went another 200 bucks! I made it through a whole week now and the tire has held up, so things get better!:)

I hope you two don't have the same insurance company. A friend of mine got hit in a parking lot and they both had Progressive. Two months after the accident Progressive hiked up his insurance calling his bike a "Claim Risk". Fu#kin' greedy ass insurance companies!

Yeah I was ready to knock his head off his shoulders. But once he said he would have his insurace take care of it I calmed down. The thing that sucks the most is waiting to get it back. The parts are on order, but Im thinking it will be atleast 1 to 2 weeks before I get it back.
