I'm live in a rural town in Southwest Western Australia. I might ride over one afternoon for a visit. [

Hey Fooman,
Just out of interest, what are the requirements to take your bike on the track at Phillip Island? I'm guessing you need a full motorcycle licence, that they also do some inspection of your bike to make sure the tyres and chain aren't about to disintegrate, etc etc. Anything else?
Also, what sort of dollars are you usually up for to do a ride there, and how many laps do you get?

My mate did it last year as I didnt have the $$ on me then...so I was his "bitch timer" instead. Still pretty good fun though...
As for the cost...it doesnt cost much to get on, its just the after cost that you need to keep into consideration. The tyres(it will definatly wear down considerably), extra tank of petrol, transport (ie. ute - in case u fucked up and havent got a lift home to the city), food/drink...etc
It's definately well worth doin it...I'm just tryin to find another keen rider to go with as a back up for each other...just in case anything happens.(my mate is overseas)
If you're keen let me know, cause i was down the island on the weekend to catch a glimpse of the Yamaha moto GP test and the weather was perfect!! It definatly got my blood pumpin!!
Think about it as it could make or break ya!!

I reckon I'm still a little bit too slow/inexperienced for a track day. I think a few more months and a few thousand more clicks under my belt and I might be ready to have a go. Plus I'm not much use as support - I don't own a ute!
I'm at uni on Saturdays now until June (there goes half the weekend [xx(]) but if anyone organises a Sunday ride, I'd probably be up for it. You guys can race ahead, but I'll pass you at every petrol station with my superior 30km/l fuel economy
