Not to worry. It probably wasn't re-jetted. Normally when installing a slip on they don't and usually it isn't necessary. If it is running well I would worry about it. Latter on you might want to play with it by either adjusting the stock jetting or buying a jet kit.

i bought a 01 zx6r with 1600 miles a few weeks ago. It has a d&d pipe slip on which was on when I bought it. The previos owner told me the shop in which he bought it from put it on. I have been told that when a pipe is put on the carbs should be adjusted to prevent the bike from running lean or rich. Would the shop have most likely performed that service when installing the new pipe. Are there any warning signs that the bike is not running right. It is not smoking and revs up fine. The bike only smokes when i first start it after an extended period of siting like a few hours or overnight. Should I have it jetted or adjusted. I am confused and dont want to continue to ride if i could possibly be damaging the internals of the engine
