Not long ago I saw a 6r with his plate bolted way underneath his bike. it was bolted to the battery box in front of the back tire it looks cool. Has any one else done this mod. I don't think it is legal I know we get enough attention from the cops already I don't want to draw anymore.

If you don't want any attention from the cops, keep it where they can see it without a doubt. I live in a small town, and the cops here are real dicks. I got stopped, and the cop was going to write me a ticket because I had my plate exactly where you are talking about, but luckily, I talked my way out of it, and only got a warning. I did have to move the plate up. Better to be safe than sorry.

my undertail looked way too damn nice for a license plate on it to screw it up. I had my friend make me a special braket for it that fits on where the exhaust mounts to the rear foot pegs. it's made of stainless steel and polished nicely. I like it . It's legal and it don't take away from my tail.

Different rules in different states...better check before you go moving the plate. I know here in Pennsylvania they are tough when it comes to license plates. Had a neon license plate frame on my wife's car...looked great and lit the plate up nice...cops stopped her and gave her a warning to get it removed and them go show them it was off or she would get a ticket. Just check in your state. I put the plate on my bike right under the tail light...looks good there IMO.

allmost all states have 5 laws regarding plates. Maximum height from ground, minimum height from ground, maximum distance from tail lights height, illumination of the plate, and plate covers. In my state (FL) the plate must be illuminated by white light, must be at least 18 inches off the ground, must be positioed within 3 inches of the height of the tail lights. and may not be covered by any plate cover (including clear, smoked, or colored. I think it really depends on the type of law enforcement in your community. But make sure it is 100% visable and lit up by at least a white led light no matter where you put it. Also in FL its illeagel to place the plate on on the side of the bike attatched to the muffeler because it must be within 3 inches of the height of the tail light.

With great freedom, comes great responsibility.

If it must be 3 inches from the horizontal of the tail light, then almost every car and every truck ever produced in the US would be illegal.

I HAD IT ON MY 02TUCKED WAY BACK THER WHEN I FIRST GOT THE GRAPHIC MOTO UNDERTAIL I DIDNT WANT TO MOUNT THE PLATE THERE BUT A COP HARRASSED ME WHILE I WAS PARKED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TOLD ME HE WASNT GOING GIVE ME A TICKET BUT IF ANOTHER COP IN THAT TOWN SAW IT LIKE THAT I WOULD PROBABLY GET PULLED OVER DIDNT NEED ANY MORE TICKETS SO I MOVED IT.

SOME TIMES I THINK SOME COPS GET OFF ON F#CKING WITH US SPORT BIKE RIDERS THEY NEVER [email protected] WITH HARLY RIDERS AND THERE STRAIGHT PIPES OR SIDE WAYS MOUNTED PLATES

THATS RIDER PROFILEING (LOL)

I think you might have seen my bike... I don't recommend this, its illegal. The plate is bolted through the battery well. And on medium suspension with 200 lb.+ rider you cannot even see the plate while riding. I'm not that concerned, rode all year with plate like that, just waiting to get pulled over though. If I receive too much flack then I'll remount it.
