I think you're gunna be a tad sore, but you'd end up that way on pretty well any bike, let alone a sportbike. Just be glad honda didn't design the seat, jk! (friendly jab at the f4i, rc51 and 954 seats out there). Take breaks at the gas station, stretch, and use all the seat while riding. I change seat position all the time while on the highway cruising. Use as much 'padding' as ya "can" - no pun intended!
Thanks for the advise.
The trip ended up taking almost 7 hours there
and almost 8 hours back.
I did a 300 mile trip when I had the 250 and carried a backpack.
Learned my lesson then to never ever do that again.
The seat was definately uncomfortable towards the latter part both days. I know what you mean about the F4i though. I couldn't imagine.
It would have been better if we had a fewer more days between the trip there and the trip back but we didn't really have a choice.
Other than the speeding ticket, it was a nice trip though. If I would have been riding alone, I probably would have stopped more.
My throttle hand is a little sore and of course my ass is.
Oh well, it'll pass.
well i am planing a trip from riverside to san francisco, for next week. just me and two friends, taking a ride. i'll let you all know, how my ass feels when i get back. its roughly 450 miles each way, plus we will be canyon ridding for the two days that we are there. any tips, other then the tank bag, and no back pack???
ditto on the corbin, I wish I had one. The zx-6R has a real soft seat and your thinking "oohh, nice place to put my bum." I quikly found that the foam is cheap and does not make for a nice place to the tush.
I did a 1000km/600mile trip from Toronto to Quebec last month no problem. I could of easily done 1000 miles but then again I have done many long road trips in the past so I'm used to it. I had a tank bag and stuffed it with clothes so that I could rest on it and take the pressure of my wrists. Just be prepared for any kind of weather. My trip took 10hrs and I stopped 2 times for gas and a washroom break. The temperature went from a cold morning to hot mid day heat, and from clear skies to torential downpours.
