Ive been considering a high mount for my 98 6r... im not sure if anyone actually makes them for 6r's but i think the piping can be done for relatively cheap at a muffler shop as long as you show them where you want the can mounted.. im sure someone out there has done more research on this.. please let us know..

btw, how do u insert images? i wanna post a pic of a 6r with a hi- mount

if the image is already hosted just insert the link in between the image tags:

{img}url here {/img} but don't use the curley braces, use the straight ones [ & ], I had to use the wrong ones so that text wasn't treated as an image.

Hindle makes a high mount and they have a new Step pipe (high mount) that puts out 8 more H.P. (jetted with factory kit and BMC airfilter) than the regular Hindle exhaust. Muffler available in Aluminum, Ti and Carbon Fiber. Oval or round. High or low mount. Race or stealth sounding cans.

both of you are right...leo vinci and hindle both make high mounts for the zx6r but they are for full exhaust systems..
they have more choices for other bikes. for example, they offer both slip on and full exhaust hi-mounts for the r6....
so my question should have originally been, does anyone know of a slip on hi-mount for our bike??

not sure... but i have a hindle high mount full system and it is very groovy :)

i've also done a good bit of research on exhaust and have never seen a slip-on high exit made for the 6R's.

I would say that because the standard slip-on would use the stock
flange to bolt to if some-one does make a highmount slipon
then the pipe just under the flange would have to be cut off and
the pipe of the new hi-mount would have to slip over the old pipe
and some new type of clamp would be needed.

AND THEIR REPLY

We do offer a high mount full system for the ZX6R, part number ZX698HSS. A muffler is ordered separately in order to give you a choice of whichever you want. A local dealer would be able to order this through Parts Canada for you. McBride Cycle is a great place to go, phone #416-763-5651.
