MD/N. VA/DC area riders: Help?

Does anyone in the md/n. va/dc area have any experience/tips for installing a manual cam chain tensioner from APE? If so...would anyone mind giving me a hand? I'll pay for your services of course but I just don't want to take it to a dealer...and I have no mechanical experience...lol.
