This week I stripped down the bike, and started the paint project.
So far the metalcast paint looks great on bare metal.
I did the new lowering links I got, looks anondized, really nice! :D

But on the larger sections, it gets iffy [B)]

Just a recap the paint is a 2 layer system.
One ground coat (which is silver with metal flakes)
one top coat (which is what give it the color; red, blue, etc...)

One of the cans of the red top coat started to sputter, leaving droplets of paint, which screwed up the side panel.
Unlike one layer paint, you can't cover over it, cause if you lay down a real heavy layer to cover it, it also leave a dark spot, since the ground coat no longer shows through.... pretty tricky paint, not for beginnners [|)]

Also the layers have to be layed down within section time intervals,
other wise you'd have to wait 5 days for it to fully cure

I'm gonna wait a week, then sand down the messed up sections, and try again

on a side note:
I'm coughing up flem that's red colored, [xx(]
ACK!
hope I don't get cancer [V]

I'd post pics, but my camera is only 2.1 mega pixel.
and the resultion isn't high enough to see the metal effect in the paint.
In the pics they would look like a pretty decent job.
You need real high res to show paint quality

I'll try and take some pics, and post them

BTW:
best price for the paint I found was at
http://www.hiresautoparts.com

Dunno about Walmart, there isn't one a 80 miles from where I am

the ground coat is $4.95, and the colored top cost is 5.75
which is available in Red Blue Yellow Purple Green.
it looks fantasic on bare metal
Thinking about painting 1/2 my pipe like the micron ones that fade out.
The metalcast is upposed to be able to withstand hi temps, they said you can even use it on your calipers
