I just bought my first bike from a friend and it now has a little over 2k miles on it - I know that I have a long way to go but wanted to know how many miles I can expect from a 6r with good care.

Depends on oil changes and all.

Hell I have 12,500+miles on my 2003 with 3 synthetic oil changes each riding season and it is a prestige motor. If you care for it internally, it should last for a long time. There is many miles on others from 0-60,000-100,000. How long the motor last, depends on you and your dedication to taking care of it.

Oh yeah, I dog the SHIT out of my 636. I run it hard, but keep it clean.;)

I currrently have a bit over 20,000 miles on my '05 636 and it still runs fine, as expected. I also expect to get many, many more miles out of it yet, with few (if any) problems.

I expect this, because I did just over 125,000 miles on my old ZX-6R with no engine problems at all.

I'm not anal about keeping them clean (actually, they're usually pretty dirty), but I do get them serviced regularly, and I always let the engine warm up properly before thrashing it.
