Hello everyone. I'm new to the site and would like to say hello. I have a '96 ZX6R and I'm looking to make some changes.

I've just put on a Full System, Muzzy Titanium Oval. :) Sounds sweet!

Cosmetic wise I think I'm gonna cut that rear fender off, mount the lic. plate higher and change the rear signals.

I'm also really interested in one of those Targa Seat Cowls and I'm wondering if anyone knows if they go over the seat or replace the seat?

Frame Sliders is another addition I'm looking for.

Any input, suggestions, ideas will be appreciated.
Cheers!

Nice to have another Canadian on the board (I think we're invading)
Thats some crazy paint on the bike, looks cool.

For frame sliders, there are a couple options. You can get ones that will not require you to cut a hole in the fairing, but they dont offer too much protection. They will prevent damage in a slow speed lowside, but not much else.
Or you can get the type that bolt onto the engine mounts, but you need to cut a hole in your fairings. These are much stronger and provide better protection.

Im not sure how a cowel works on the 96, whether it fits overtop of the seat or replaces it.

the targa cowling will replace your seat. http://www.targa-acc.com You will probably have to get the unpainted one, that way your local paint shop will match your paint scheme. I got one from them for my 02 ZX6R and it is at the paint shop right now. Once I fit it onto the bike I'll post pics

Let Saddam come and play!

Thanks for the replies.

CdnNinjaZX6R: Ya I'm not exactly a big fan of the paint scheme, I wish it was green! Oh well...

Regarding the sliders, I'd prefer to cut the fairing so that I can bolt them directly to the mounts. I've only found one place so far that has them like that for the pre-03 ZX6R's. It a British company called R+G Racing http://www.rg-racing.com/ and they have developed sliders that attach directly to the engine mounts, PLUS they have a water bottle with a hole in the middle to replace the stock bottle which hides the engine mount bolt.

So I dunno, I would rather order from someplace closer.

eltorito: thanks for the info. Did you find that it fits on exactly the way the seat does so you can alternate between the two?

Heres a pic or two of mine . . .

Undertail, clear taillight, full hindle, targa solo-seat, carbon hugger, smoke windscreen etc . .

I crashed badly Sept. 8th. Since then, I've polished the frame, rims, forks, and the swingarm. I'll post new pics as I get the bike back together.

You can see the undetail and clear tail here . . .

Heres a shot that has the hugger and the solo seat (it fits better when the bike hasn't been hit by a car)

Thanks for the pix zxsixr, your bike looks (looked) great. Love the undertail and the clear tail light! Sorry to hear about your crash but I can't wait to see the new pix!!!

Myself I'm not too sure how much I wanna invest in the bike... I almost bought a newer one this year and decided to do some
performance mods and keep it one more season for sure.

btw, I'm in Calgary, and I'm sorry if I started this thread in the wrong area, after I looked the board over I realized it might have been better suited for the 'aftermarket parts' or something.

Ooooooooooooooooooooooh, pretty!

I might try doing that next winter. The frame took a long time to do, and I'm still not 100% happy with it. But it will be grand! I'm sure by then I'll be ready for the 10R, and someone will get a real tricked out 6R when the get mine!

Veryyyyy nice. I can imagine it's fairly pricy to have that done. A lot of work involved. Will be awesome to see your before and after pictures!

Hey RG checked the pictures on your web site. Love the colours on the bike. That isn't a standard job though is it? If it is I've never seen it in australia (but thats not uncommon on these type of boards [V]). If you do anything don't change the colours.

Thanks for compliment Beowulf. Yes, it's custom paint (originally the bike was red.) It's certainly 'different' but I have now grown to really love the Kawi's green. I also have a weakness for black/yellow schemes but this is great for now. What matters most it the fun of riding than the perfect colors. :)
