Most of the info on what we did is here:
http://www.schiebel.ca/Polishing/frame_polishing_101.htm
Maybe we can get this posted on the front screen somewhere..

This is a rough guide on what we did, with some pictures to help along the way.

Arturo3rd, we used Mothers aluminum polish for most of it, then finished it off with a couple coats of Autosol metal polish.

looks pretty darn nice there! I don't know why ppl say the pre 03 6R's were outdated styling, cuz I love every pic I see of them on this website. (I am partial to the green wheels on the green bike tho, sry)

Once again getting green envy :D. Love the bike! Looks awesome. A bit of polishing here and there makes these bikes look unbelievable. I like the way the wheels came out too. GREAT JOB!!

The bike looks great! I really like it. I can't wait until I get my 03 completely polished and looking good. One small suggestion, is that you could polish the foot plates on your rearsets. I took mine off and polished them by hand. Didn't use any paint strippers or anything, just started with 220 grit and went to 400, 1000, 2000, and eagle polish, and they came out looking great. Once again, the bike looks good![8D]

On the same topic, but a bit of a different note, my aluminum can got scratched when it was shipped, i suppose i could just go with some fine steel wool and polish to fix it eh? And i believe crome and al polishes are teh same arent they? they dont really seem to stipulate btwn the two and alot of metal polish say they will work on both, anyone see any problems with this?

Cdn... is that the stocker can polished ???

Hmmmmm... can't believe you put that much work into a (hack, cough, sputter) STOCK can... with a bike that sweet - time to grab a nice can brother !!! I recommend a nice Akro or Yosh to put the finishing touches on her... lighten her up a bit and make it sound as good as it looks you know... ;)

Oops, you posted at the same time as me DJ..

Yea that is the stock can polished.
I am a poor, poor, college student.. Can't afford a new can right now.
I want to get a Hindle system, but I'm also thinking of making this into a race replica, with the decal package from the Kawi WSBK team. They use Akro, which is a hell of a lot more $$ :(

Yea the rear footpegs are black right now. Boy Racer got his powder coated black, but then got a highmount exhaust and took them off.

I'm still polishing my footpegs so I put his on.
Actually looks pretty good in black..

You went with a clearcoat? on the whole thing? let me know how that turns out, I was condisering doing it to mine to make it easier to keep clean, but I'm worried about how much shine you'll lose, and if it yellows
