my new '03 6R

Here's some pics of my new 6R. The only thing that I have done so far is remove the mudflap and make a custom bracket for the plate and rear lights. The front flush mounts are on order.

I also have a '91 ZX6D with custom paint, supersport system, etc.
You can find pics here.

Hope you enjoy. C-Ya in Daytona!

Hey Skiv,

Check out 03zx6r's bike. Her aftermarket turn signs work well with the new ZX6R

Here is the post

I saw this post and thought about both possibilities, but here in VA, I have seen quite a few guys get pulled for having their plate turned up like that, or mounted in front of the rear tire. I don't know if you can see, but the mount I made has tabs that are bent back so I can mount the clear/ carbon short stalks, which will be mounted in the next day or so. Also I picked up some flushmounts for the front, and some cool blues for the headlights. I will let you know when I have the pics up...Thanx for the ideas

Skiv, that's exactly what I'm doing. Got the bracket all ready, and I'm going to mount the shortstalks onto the bracket. Going to TRY to find shortstalks for the front that fit right too...

I got a silver 636 and i'm am trying to figure out how to put the licence plate up. I'm not for sure the thing 03zx6rchick would keep me from getting pulled over. How did you make that holder.
I cut the bracket out of a piece of aluminum that I had in my garage, notched it, and bent it into shape. THen I drilled the holes for the short stalks. If it ever stops raining here, I will get some better pics, the garage pics aren't real good since I have a crappy camera. I also cut the bracket down some so it doesn't hang around the plate and the brackets for the lights are barely visable

When I get the pics I will post them or check my website in the next couple days.

by the way, that plate posted on ebay will also get tickets in VA because the cops can't see it. Mine is at least lit by the taillight and slanted where they can see it, but hopefully not too well at speed :)

Hey great job on both ends... except for the exhaust, our bikes will almost look like twins !!!

Now all that's left is for you to go out there and RIDE it !!! WOOT !!!

dj, I am thinking there are gonna be a lot of 'twins' out there this year. Red seems to be the most popular color so far. I am doing everything in my budget to make it stand out. I have the frame sliders and carbon tank bra on order. I already have the carbon gas cap cover installed. I need more carbon. I need more money!! I am thinking about taking my bike up to Devil to see if they want to use it for a template on the shotgun exhaust. Maybe they will give me a big discount??!! The dual cans would really stand out.
As far as riding, my season will probably start before yours anyway :)! I now have a whopping 125 miles since I bought her 3 weeks ago. I really need to get out more, heh heh.

The short stalks that I got for the rear will work for the front also, but you will have to make a small backing plate to fit on the inside of the bike, as well as the outsite. I was going to cut two pieces of old bodywork(fill pieces) for each side, drill them for the lights, then mount them on the inside and outside of the fairing so when I tightned up the lights, they would pull together. Of course the fill pieces would have to be painted bodycolor to match. Here is a small pic that I made real quick to kind of get the idea across. I decided to go with the flush mounts but though of using the short stalks.

With this type of mount, you can use any lights you like, and not have to worry if it fits the stock mounting location. Can't wait to see what my bike would have looked like with short stalks instead of the flush mounts!
