I have an 06 ZX6R. I wanted to find some rear tire huggers. I've found four so far. I have a black bike so I'm looking for a black one. It doesn't necessary

Two are from Hotbodies but I don't like them at all. http://www.kneedraggers.com/details/Hotbodies_Racing_Rear_Tire_Hugger_Kawasaki_ZX6R--618988.html
http://www.xdcycle.com/store/catalog/2005-2006-ZX6R-636-Rear-Tire-Hugger-p-1139.html

Two are from Puig and I like them but I want to see some more: http://www.hyperformanceparts.com/c...-2005-2006-Kawasaki-ZX6R-RR/product_info.html

Any help is very appreciated. Thanks guys.

1. search. there are dozens of threads on this topic.

2.http://www.kawiforums.com/showthread.php?t=100731&highlight=hotbodies

3. the first link YOU posted is for a different bike. you should reconsider hotbodies. they're one of the best looking ones out there. they're a tad tough to install and you have to do a little modification, but they look great and are worth it if you get a decent deal on one.

What are you talking about? All three links I posted said they are for the ZX6R for the years 05-06. And sorry I did try searching around google. But I'm just not used to searching the forums for answers. I need to get in a habit of that. And your bike is sweet as hell looking with that white paint. With as bland of a color as white it is, it looks extremely awesome on ZX6R's.

And thanks for that link Ninjabadger4. I may also get a new windscreen from there. That's a great link. My windscreen is the stock one plus I'd like to get a dark one to match my black paint.

i meant search kawiforums. search in the 05-06 and the 03-04 forum. if you type "hugger" in the search box in the 2003-2004 forum, you'll find dozens of threads and you'll find more in the 05-06 forum. the reason i say search 2003-2004 is because we used to share one forum. now we have our 05-06 forum and the rejects have their own (haha just kidding. i love the 03-04!)

when i clicked on the first link it showed me a pic of a hugger/swingarm that is 100% without a doubt NOT a 2005-2006 zx-6r.

Ah alright sorry for the misunderstanding man. Are the 03-04 huggers compatible with the 05-06s?

no they are not compatible as far as i know. there is a cheap one on ebay made by a company called Pit Eck. a few forum members have tried them and they say they are complete garbage. a (very) few forum members have said that the fitment is ok. i would stay away from them. keep an eye out on ebay and check with all our forum sponsors. a few forum sponsors give discounts to kf members with a certain promotion code. check a bunch of websites' clearance sections. you might find something in there.

What about 07-08 huggers? You know if those work with it?

It's just I've found some for cheaper prices them online than for 06's. I'm thinking I'll get the Puig black one. I think I'll sit on it though since I don't think I'm doing anything to my bike until winter.

he said search in 03-04 section because that section used to be merged with this one, all posts made before Sept. 07 (or so) are still there in the 03-04 section. they never got transferred here, there's tons of good quality info over years stuck in that section.
hah i hope that makes sense

i dont know about 07-08. i doubt they fit. keep a look out in the kf for sale section. sometimes people sell used ones cheap.

i dont like the puig. it's called a "hugger" for a reason. it's supposed to hug the tire. in all the pics i've seen of the puig, it does NOT hug the tire. i think hotbodies is about the best looking tire hugger out there. i love how close it sits to my tire. here's an old pic.

these ones from pyramid-plastics are pretty good but a bit expensive. ($160..?) It has a built in chain guard and you dont have to drill any holes into the swingarm, like those cheap ones on ebay they sell for about $85.00

i don't like the "hug the wheel" type of huggers at all, they look gay imo
i like the Puig because it's different from the "hug the wheel"
point of hugger is to protect your shock from road debris

lol Yea the chain is typically attached to the rear tire right? :Laughing rolling:

Also, sorry for not being able to keep posting the past few days. I live in Cincinnati and just about the entire Cinci area went out of power from the remnants of Hurricane Ike. We had winds up to 75mph here... insane storm that knocked over mass trees and powerlines. I'm glad the power is back on though.
