I had that happen. I turned the bracket around and it fit the can perfect.
Dunno if that will help you, but you never know. Oh and i left off one of the spacers as well. This was all to fit the akro pipe. Sounded like the same issue though.

Good luck

I just bought a Hindle slip-on (mis-pipe and muffler). The problem I am having getting the strap that goes around the can to sit flush. The stock can attached to the hanger on the inside of the pass footpeg and the only way i can get the starp on the hindle to work is to put it on the outside of the peg. Second when I tighten it down there seems to be a gap, like both ends of the band dont seat flat togther. What the hell?? Anyone else have this same problem?

If that description doesnt make any sense let me know and I can take a picture.

I have the high mount. The problem is that when I put the pipe up in place it causes the pipe to hit the swingarm. I am looking for a pipe of the igh mount where the pipe bolts to the subframe.

I have the highmount also, and getting the clamp around the can was a bitch! To stop the midpipe from hitting the swingarm, just do not tighten the clamp connecting the midpipe to the headers all the way. That way u can adjust the midpipe from side to side then tighten it down when u have some space between the midpipe and the swingarm. Hope that makes sense.

BTW there is only going to be a small amount of space between the two.

Thx, sounds like I am trying to get too much clearance between the pipe and swingarm. Fits so tight I didnt even use a clamp on the midpipe/header joint.

I had the same problem with mine too. You have to use a spacer to get everything lined up and tight.....

Here is how I have mine as you look left to right from the rear of the bike. 1- subframe 2- alum link w/ the 3 holes 3-strap

Is that how you set up yours??? Once I got it all bolted up I had about 1/16 of an inch between the pipe and swingarm. Sound about the same as yours??
