I was wondering if you guys knew if a 96 zx6r front rim will fit on a 2002 zx6r. I got a good wheelie the other day alittle bit too good and actually came back all the way and hit the muffler. Lost it on the way down and somehow from the fall, put a dent in my rim around the bead on the one side. Tire still seals but i am wanting to replace it, or find out if i can fix it. I know someone who has one for a 96 and according to the pix it looks right. Help please, only "for sure" feedback.

This is not "for sure" feed back, so ignore if you want. i would go to a dealer for "for sure" answers.

From a quick look at www.buykawasaki.com it does not look like it will work. A different front hub setup and a different front wheel size.

Sorry bud.

It's days like this I wish I still did drugs!

hey bro, get it straightened! there are a handfull of wheel straighteners that do excelent work. I ate it on a wheelie and bent up my front rim pretty bad, and then got it straightened and the thing is perfect.

Mine has a little ripple in it too. I havn't ever hit anything and have never brought a wheelie down hard on it, yet there is a little ding/ripple on the edbe of my front rim. I am not too worried about it though, I don't think I'll lose the bead. These alluminum wheels seem a little weak so if you are going to do wheelies and what not, don't worry about it. You'll probably tear the next one up too. It's just a matter of how bad yours is, I have seen guys who stunt a lot ride around on some scarry looking rims and they don't have any problems.

Too answere your question though, I do believe your bike has a larger wheel size, they changed the size of the rear tire a couple of times in the 90's and the front may have changed from a 16 to a 17 inch wheel............I think. Check with a dealer they should be able to answere your question over the phone.
