Hmmm...got me there. I've never heard of these. Are they better than HID's?

CCFL is nothing similar to HID, its the cold equilvalent to a neon light...like you see sold as accent lights at places like Autozone and PepBoys....

Here is one of the most common uses of ccfl lately...illuminated fans for PC use...

Hmm...just a thought...if the fans like above are 120mm, that means the ccfl ring should a just a little over 3" diameter...I may have to pick one up from my bud that runs a discount pc surplus store cheap and tear it apart...lol

I stand corrected...it seems the ring on the 80mm fans will be roughly 3.125" diameter, and the 120mm units will be roughly 4.75" diameter...
