I have the same problem on occasion when the bike is cold. I just push it very carefully into neutral and it will go in. Doesn't seem to happen when it is hot - I tend to make sure the bike has warmed up properly before taking off now and I don't seem to get the problem very often anymore.

If you're already at a stop then play with engaging/di-engaging the clutch just enough or rock the bike and it should hit neutral. Sometimes I move back a step just when I shift down into first for a good engagement also.

I have had a problem getting into neutral on my 96 zx6r It normally has a neutral lock so when your stopped it only goes from first to neutral. But lately it just goes right through it takes a few tries to get it in. Any help would be great.[?] Thanks
